In 2026, Nature Impact Collective’s members continued their support for organisations working to protect and restore Australia’s inland waters and coastal ecosystems. This year, eight organisations are sharing $2.25 million in funding, including renewed support for three organisations where continued investment was considered critical. Together, this brings our total funding since 2024 to $5.8 million across 18 organisations.
Our continued focus on water allows us to build on the knowledge, relationships and momentum generated through previous funding rounds, while expanding our support into complementary and emerging areas. It also reflects the scale and urgency of the threats facing Australia’s waterways, including climate change, ecosystem degradation and over-extraction, and recognises that this is an area of environmental work that remains significantly underfunded.
The 2026 funding round reflects the range of solutions needed to address these interconnected challenges, spanning, catchment restoration, invasive species management, First Nations stewardship, and strategic advocacy and campaigning. This year, we have also expanded our portfolio to include regenerative agriculture through support for Soils for Life, recognising the critical role farming systems play in the health of rivers, wetlands and coastal ecosystems.
We remain committed to supporting ecosystems of organisations whose complementary strengths create greater collective impact. With the Murray Darling Basin Plan Review at a critical juncture, we have renewed funding for the Murray Darling Conservation Alliance, who we funded in our first funding round in 2024. This year, we have added the Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations and the Nature Conservation Council of NSW’s river-focused advocacy work.
In 2026 the organisations we funded are:

- Invasive Species Council
